The Harper government has been pushing Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney to be appointed to the part-time position of Chair of the Basel-based
Financial Stability Board, the world's most important financial regulator.
The CEOs and business leaders on the COMPAS business panel agree strongly that
- Carney is the best candidate for the job,
- Canada would benefit because his appointment would make clear our country's financial strengths, and
- the Harper government should be praised for its efforts on his behalf and hence on the country's behalf.
These are the key findings from this past week's Internet survey of CEOs and business leaders on the COMPAS panel. The weekly business survey is
undertaken for Canadian Business magazine.
